About Our Classes
If you're not comfortable in the typical yoga studio or gym setting then this is the class for you! No intimidation, all body types welcome and absolutely no experience necessary. There's a misconception that you have to be fit and flexible to do yoga. Not true at all! With practice, yoga will help you become these things and so much more.
Hatha Yoga is a general term used for most yoga styles. It is an ancient system that includes the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (yoga breathing exercises), which help bring peace to the mind and body preparing it for the deeper practice of meditation.
With so many different styles of yoga out there it can be daunting for the beginner to know where to start. Each style has its own approach to the use of these techniques, some very slow and gentle while others flow more quickly from posture to posture.
The way our classes work: We meet you where you are at. Yoga is not a competitive sport. If you're interested in moving the body and opening the mind then you can do yoga. The techniques are introduced to everyone and modifications are provided to meet each student where they are. We begin with a gentle warm up, move into deeper asanas (postures) and end the class with relaxation. Everyone benefits!
